About JIPMER Paramedical Entrance Exam
The JIPMER Paramedical Entrance Exam is a national-level online entrance test conducted by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Puducherry. It is the mandatory qualifying exam for admission to various B.Sc. Paramedical and Allied Health Science courses offered at JIPMER campuses. The exam evaluates candidates’ knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Logical Reasoning and serves as the primary selection criteria for admission to prestigious paramedical programs.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit: Minimum 17 years as on December 31 of the admission year. No upper age limit. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects from a recognized board. Minimum Marks (PCB + English): General / EWS: 50% OBC-NCL / SC / ST: 40% PwD (General/OBC): 45% Nationality: Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, and Foreign Nationals are eligible.

Mode of Exam: Online (Computer-Based Test) Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions Sections & Weightage: Physics – 20 Chemistry – 20 Biology – 40 English Language – 10 Logical & Quantitative Reasoning – 10 Duration: 1.5 hours (90 minutes) Marking Scheme: +4 for each correct answer -1 for each incorrect answer 0 for unattempted questions Total Marks: 400

The syllabus is based on the Class 11 & 12 CBSE/State Board curriculum. Physics Motion, Laws of Motion, Work & Energy, Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Kinematics, Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetism, Optics, Modern Physics. Chemistry Basic Concepts, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Equilibrium, Thermodynamics, Organic Chemistry (Hydrocarbons, Alcohols), Biomolecules, Polymers, Environmental Chemistry. Biology Diversity in Living Organisms, Cell Structure & Function, Human Physiology, Plant Physiology, Reproduction, Genetics & Evolution, Biotechnology, Ecology. English Language Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Formation, Synonyms & Antonyms. Logical & Quantitative Reasoning Analytical reasoning, Coding-Decoding, Series, Patterns, Basic Arithmetic, Data Interpretation.
